What is a YouTube Stream Key?
A stream key is a unique private code that authorises your broadcasting software (in this case, the Live Cricket Scoring app) to send a live video stream directly to your YouTube channel. Think of it as a password-protected connection between the app and your YouTube Live dashboard. You copy it once and paste it into the app — that's all it takes.

Step 2 of 4

Inside YouTube Studio — Click "Go Live"

You are now inside YouTube Studio — your channel management dashboard. In the top-right corner, click the "Create" button (the camera icon with a +). A small dropdown appears. Click "Go live" from that dropdown menu.

What to do: Click the Create button (top-right, camera icon) inside YouTube Studio, then click "Go live" from the dropdown. This opens the YouTube Live Control Room where your stream key lives.
The "Go live" option is the second item in the Create dropdown
You may need to verify your channel to enable live streaming (takes 24 hours first time)
Step 3 of 4

Select the Stream Key Tab in Live Control Room

The YouTube Live Control Room opens. On the left sidebar, make sure the broadcast icon (the live signal icon) is selected — it is the first icon at the top of the left sidebar. This is the Stream tab where your stream key is located. You will see a "Stream key: Default stream" dropdown at the top of the main panel.

What to do: In the Live Control Room, click the live broadcast icon (top icon on the left sidebar — it looks like a signal/broadcast symbol). The red arrow in the screenshot points to it. You will see "Stream key: Default stream" at the top of the main panel. This is where your key is stored.
Make sure "Stream key: Default stream" is selected in the dropdown
You can create multiple stream keys for different matches if needed
Step 4 of 4 — Final Step

Click the Copy Button to Copy Your Stream Key

In the top-right corner of the stream panel, next to the "Stream key: Default stream" dropdown, you will see a copy icon button. Click it — your stream key is now copied to your clipboard. A small "Copy" tooltip appears to confirm it was copied successfully. Now paste this key into the Live Cricket Scoring app.

What to do: Click the copy icon (clipboard icon) to the right of the "Stream key: Default stream" dropdown. The tooltip says "Copy" when you hover over it. Your full stream key is now on your clipboard — go back to the Live Cricket Scoring app and paste it into the YouTube Stream Key field.
The key looks like: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Never share this key publicly — reset it in Studio if compromised

Things to Know

Your Key Does Not Expire
The default stream key stays the same between matches. You only need to copy it once and save it in the app.
First-Time Verification Takes 24 Hours
If you have never gone live on YouTube before, you need to verify your channel first. This takes up to 24 hours — do it the day before your match.
Reset If Compromised
If your key is exposed, go back to YouTube Studio → Go Live → Stream tab and click the refresh icon to generate a new key. Update it in the app immediately.
Get the Key on Desktop, Use on Mobile
The stream key page is easiest to access on a desktop browser. Copy the key, email it to yourself, then paste it into the app on your phone.
